Traceability

FactoryEdge provides Lot numbers for forward and reverse traceability.

Material Lots
At time of receipt parts are assigned a lot number. When parts are consumed in production, the user is prompted to define the lot used. 

Production Lots
When sub assemblies or finished goods are produced they assigned a lot number. This Lot number will link to the material lots used in production.

Traceability
Upon shipment the user is prompted to enter lot information. This links specific sales orders, and therefore customers, to specific lots. Complete tracabiliy reports can be generated. 

Lots and Q/C
If an item is returned by a customer, or if a material is returned to a vendor, the information is logged against its lot. Q/C reports can therefore be broken down by Lot.

Automatic or Manual Lots
Lots can be assigned automatically, on a numeric basis, by the system. Also, lots can be manually assigned an alpha-numeric code. This is a global setting.
